About

Welcome to my official website! I am Dr. Nicolas McAfee, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Economics at Christendom College. A native of Upland, California, I received my Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Dallas. My work centers on recovering the political thought and wisdom of William Shakespeare and Thomas More. I recently published my first academic book, Political Wisdom in Late Shakespeare: A Way Out of the Wreck, and I am currently editing a new English translation of the Latin edition of More's History of King Richard III.

news

---I recently sat down for a conversation with Jack Kieffaber, where we discussed our running debate on A Man for All Seasons - a conversation sponsored by the Thomas More Society of America and hosted at Hillsdale College's D.C. Campus.
---In early March, I was honored to present a paper at the inaugural conference of The Association for the Renewal of Catholic Political and Social Thought (Catholic POST), held in Budapest, Hungary. The title of the conference was "The Renaissance of Catholic Social Teaching."
---On the evening of May 12th, I returned to the Basilica of St. Mary (Alexandria, VA) to give "Part Two" of a lecture and conversation on the politics and patriotism of Thomas More (you can find here the recording of "Part I," where I teamed up with Hillsdale College's Shaun Rieley).
